Here's the fun stuff.....what we do in this class.
We ANSWER these questions.
- When do I paint the background?
How and when do I paint in layers
Can I paint over things, or do I need to paint around it?
How do I simplify a complex scene?
How can I paint light?
How do I plan a painting?
I get half way and don't know what to do next.
How do I stop fiddling and messing it up. (good luck with that.)
How do I choose which brush to paint with?
I keep getting muddled up, what now?
when is dark dark enough?
How wet should my wash be?
What, exactly, is the point in painting in Layers?
How to I choose a subject, I can never think of one.
I want to paint landscapes but have no idea where to start?
- and so much more....as we are paintingg 10 x paintings in 10 classes. Just like 10 workshops.
- BOOKING CONDITIONS APPLY (you can find them under the bookings tab.)
Please note: this unusual situation we find ourselves in has created the opportunity to offer this live online class. It is a GREAT opportunity to try watercolour, and get into one of Jenny's very popular Absolute Beginner courses which generally have a long waiting list. It is hoped that Jenny's face to face classes will be able to reopen - but we'll not do this until vaccines are readily available and distributed. When classes reopen, students may choose to join Jenny's Collaroy or Narrabeen (Sydney Australia) classes where space available at the appropriate level. Meanwhile, why don't you get started with the online course, and swap to the appropriate term of live classes when they start.
By the end of this Watercolour course Level - YOU:
Will know all the foundation techniques of watercolour
Have had tons of practice putting your skills into real-life painting applications.
Have had the satisfaction of painting real paintings.
Won't just have to copy everything.
Will have a great set of reference notes.
Will have a great list of resources to draw from
Will have access to Jenny's enormous watercolour community
Will know how to paint full and complicated paintings without help.
Be able to choose your own subjects, and work out how to paint them.
Can progress to painting independently, AND if you have completed Jenny's entire Level 1-4 course, you can join our Free (while on Zoom) and exclusive, Painter's group behind the scenes, who paint along with the regular zoom class on any day it is available.
EQUIPMENT: Jenny has very firm ideas on what makes good equipment and what does not. It is highly recommended that you check out Jenny's Equipment list for LEVEL 4 via the button below.
You will need EQUIPMENT FROM LEVELS1,2, 3 and 4. We have all the Winsor & Newton Brand paints available SUPER CHEAP - in our PAINT SHOP page.
Please check out the button above to obtain the equipment list for this class. Student quality equipment leads to disappointing results, buy artist quality where possible. You do not HAVE to buy all the equipment required, but Jenny will not be able to offer substitute suggestions (ie colours) as we may not work with those in class. Arches or Saunders 300 gsm rough paper is COMPULSORY.
Northern Beaches Watercolour is Jenny's website and business name.
Welcome to Watercolour (Teachable) is the name of the page on which the Online course lives. It is part of Northern Beaches Watercolour.
