The joys of teaching Watercolour.

As I head into the last week of classes for the year, I think back to my very first one - all those new faces, with all that expectation. And visions of Monet-style paintings flying around in their heads. So many students have followed the Northern Beaches Watercolour course fully to it's conclusion now, and have enjoyed learning the beautiful techniques and results that come from this amazing medium. It's a joy to see the expressions of amazement on their faces when they have a success...for them, sometimes an unexpected success, for me....I know it's going to happen sooner or later.

I just LOVE teaching watercolour. I'm not the coolest, the most eloquent or the cleverest teacher in the world, but I'm definitely passionate.

Many of my adult students have been so kind in their praise, they have no idea how much that encourages me and enthuses me to keep on doing what I'm doing. It's a real pleasure to teach these people.

At the beginning of this year, 2018, I had no idea I was going to give birth to this new venture. Having had plenty of teaching experience before, one way or another, it wasn't the teaching that kept me from starting, it was the starting!!! that kept me from starting.

The lovely lady in charge of bookings at Northern Beaches Council was no end of help,...you know who you are. What a blessing she is. Now, I look back and see dozens of faces, a hundred or more, students whom I've taught over the year, all bending over some Arches rough, with looks of intense concentration, sometimes intense frustration, but more often relaxation. How wonderful!!

Thank you all, you lovely students, for putting your faith in me and letting me boss you around. I hope I have been of some use. You have...you've shown me how lovely people can be. If you'd like to join me in classes - check out the Classes page on my website www.northernbeacheswatercolour.com.au
